Baekhyun’s agency responded to a controversy over the use of an e-cigarette indoors.
On September 16, a video of Baekhyun vaping at a restaurant in Macau caused quite a stir. The video shows Baekhyun chatting in a corner while smoking, with some people who are presumed to be staff members accompanying him.
Baekhyun’s agency, INB100, then issued an official apology:
“Hello. This is INB100.
We sincerely apologize to everyone who felt discomfort due to the recent indoor smoking controversy involving our artist Baekhyun.
At the time, Baekhyun and our staff were completely unaware that e-cigarettes were banned in Macau. During a meal with the staff after a performance in Macau, Baekhyun unknowingly used an e-cigarette as the conversation progressed.
Baekhyun is deeply sorry for disappointing many fans due to his reckless actions.
Baekhyun and our company will be more vigilant to ensure that such incidents do not happen again, and we promise not to disappoint our fans in the future. We will also strive to act in a more mature manner.
Once again, we sincerely apologize for causing concern and discomfort. We are truly sorry.”
