Notice to Tolkien fans: the festival of imaginative worlds Yggdrasil in Lyon is celebrating its tenth anniversary and is planning a few surprises for the occasion, including a quest for the “ring of power”, Saturday January 25. The prize is a real golden ring to be won, forged for the occasion.

Will you be the one to find the“ring to rule them all” on Saturday January 25 in Lyon? To celebrate ten years of the Yggdrasil festival of imaginative worlds, which will take place at Eurexpo on February 8 and 9, the organizers have planned a particularly exciting appetizer in advance: a quest for the ring, free and open to all, “from 16 to 345 years old”they indicate, specifying that minors must be accompanied by an adult. At stake: a golden ring Lord of the Rings specially forged, and its unique case in the world, with a total value of 7,000 euros.
An epic, unique and immersive quest awaits you. Your “Middle Earth” will be the urban center of Lyon. The meeting is set for Saturday, Place Saint-Jean, at the foot of the cathedral from 10 a.m. Each participant will be entrusted with four quests of four puzzles each, inspired by pop culture and emblematic places of Lyon.
Each quest validated before 7 p.m. will allow their name to be entered for a first draw. Registrations will be done on site, the same day. If you come in cosplay or costume, you will have an extra chance in the draw.
A compatible smartphone is required to access the Yggdraquest.fr digital platform, which will serve as a guide throughout the game. But be careful: places are limited, 10,000 participants only.
A first draw will take place on February 8, at the opening of the 10th edition of Yggdrasil, specially dedicated this year to Tolkien’s legacy. Ten winners will receive an invitation to the festival the next day because the final draw will take place on Sunday February 9 on the main stage of the festival, at Eurexpo Lyon.
Some 30,000 people are expected for this annual dive into the fascinating worlds of medieval novels, heroic fantasy, science fiction, steampunk and others. You will have to be at the foot of the stage to win. Lots of official objects from Lord of the Rings will be refurbished from the ten drawn at random.
The big winner will leave with the ring of power that neither Sauron nor Gollum can deny.
