the essential
While the white plan has been activated in several hospitals in , the Cahors hospital has moved to “level 1 tension”. Fewer than a dozen people are hospitalized because of the flu.

The flu epidemic continues to rage in Lot, which remains placed on red alert by Public Health France like the rest of the country. The rate of visits to emergency rooms for cases of influenza is 512.1 cases per 10,000 inhabitants according to Public Health France. In comparison, neighboring departments are doing better, such as Aveyron with a rate of 336.7 cases per 10,000 visits or Cantal with 257.8 cases per 10,000 emergency visits. The national average is 518.1 cases per 10,000 passages.

Barrier gestures still in force at Cahors hospital

If many hospitals have triggered the white plan, the Cahors hospital is in “level 1 tension”, that is to say that the “phenomena having, a priori, a limited impact on the provision of care requiring a sectoral management”, explains the High Authority of Health. The establishment had already set up a bi-weekly unit “to best manage hospitalization capacities”. He also made it compulsory to wear a mask for caregivers and visitors, until further notice. Last week, 16 people were hospitalized with the flu, including elderly people. The establishment now has less than ten hospitalizations. If Public Health France noted in its weekly bulletin of January 8, “an exceptionally high level of intensity in the hospital”, Cahors seems to be doing better than at the national level.
