After a year unfortunately very marked by the cancellation of her tour and her divorce from Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez is ready to return to the forefront for good reasons. As she prepares to receive the Legend & Groundbreaker Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival in 2025, the singer and actress is convinced: the best of her career is still ahead of her.

Questioned by the American site Variety, the singer said: she is particularly honored by the prize she is about to receive, to celebrate her long career, as she recently celebrated her 55th birthday. “I’m out of breath,” she slips, before specifying: “But I still have so much to do!”

Jennifer Lopez is indeed convinced of this: “I’m only halfway there. I have the impression that my best work is still ahead of me. My biggest projects are still ahead of me, as well. that my biggest successes are all still in the future,” she believes, determined not to rest on her laurels.

Among the projects in question, we find in particular the adaptation of the Broadway success “Kiss of the Spider Woman”, a musical comedy awarded several times, and in which Jennifer Lopez will play the character of Aurora, a mermaid. Soon to be presented at the Sundance festival, she considers the project “her best experience on a feature film”: “It’s a film about how love transcends everything, including the most difficult circumstances: gender, social preconceptions… Everything.”

“Women are strong,” says Jennifer Lopez. “We are forced to be, from the minute we are born. We always have to prove ourselves, show that we are worth it. And that creates a form of strength.” A strength that multiplies, according to her, when a woman becomes a mother: “There is nothing that makes you stronger than giving birth to a child.”
