Are you in front of your TV and you’re zapping in search of a film to watch alone, with family or friends? No need to exhaust yourself, we’ve gone through the program to find 3 great films to enjoy to end the week in style.

Bullet Train (TF1, 21h10)

According to the synopsis provided by Sony Pictures:

Ladybug is an unlucky assassin who is particularly determined to accomplish his new mission peacefully after too many of them have gone off the rails. But fate has decided otherwise and takes him on the fastest train in the world alongside formidable adversaries who all have one thing in common, but whose interests diverge radically… He must then try by all means to get off the train.

We recommend this film directed by David Leitch, particularly for its very solid cast: Brad Pitt, Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, and also Sandra Bullock and Michael Shannon.

Luke the cold hand (Arte, 9 p.m.)

A man with a strong personality has been sentenced to two years of hard labor for a minor act of vandalism committed while he was drunk. He gradually becomes the star of the prison and will try everything to escape.

If this gem by Stuart Rosenberg released in 1967 has left its mark, it is above all for the remarkable performance of Paul Newman. But it would be wrong to minimize the role of George Kennedy which also earned him an Oscar for best supporting actor.

Speed (6ter, 21h10)

In this gripping thriller, a retired bomb expert has planted a bomb on a crowded bus. If he is not paid the ransom or if anyone tries to stop the vehicle, he says he will blow it up. A police officer tries to take matters into his own hands, but he will have his work cut out for him as the situation is extremely tense.

This 90s classic stars a bunch of actors who have since confirmed their talent. Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock come to mind. As for Dennis Hopper, he literally steals the show.

That’s all for this week. Note, if these three films are not to your taste, that there will be other feature films this Sunday evening on TNT, and in particular Babysitting 2 (W9, 21h10), Colors of fire (France 2, 9:10 p.m.), and Tatie Danielle (TF1 Series-Films, 9 p.m.). You can also catch up on last week’s gems in replay by rereading our previous article here.
