“Firefighters” surpasses 2 million viewers – Soompi

“Firefighters” has surpassed 2 million viewers!

On December 19, the Korea Film Council announced that “Firefighters” had officially reached 2,005,651 admissions as of the previous day. Released on December 4, the film surpassed the 2 million mark in just 16 days.

Directed by Kwak Kyung Taek, “Firefighters” captures the authenticity of real-life events by telling the story of firefighters who responded to the Hongje neighborhood fire disaster in March 2001. It vividly depicts the urgent situation facing The Western Fire Station team faced it, along with the sweat and tears of firefighters who worked in difficult conditions, all driven by a singular goal to extinguish the fire and rescue everyone.

To celebrate the achievement, the film’s stars expressed their gratitude to viewers.

Joo Won wrote, “We surpassed 2 million viewers! I sincerely thank you. I love them”.

Yoo Jae Myung wrote, “2 million viewers, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We wish you all happiness!

Lee Yoo Young wrote, “The name to remember: Firefighter. We have reached 2 million! I love them. Thank you”.

Oh Dae Hwan wrote, “Thanks to all of you, we were able to donate 238 million won (approximately $164,000) to the National Fire Hospital. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
