DC Studios published this Thursday, December 19, the first trailer for the new film directed by James Gunn, Superman, in which the Venezuelan actress María Gabriela de Faría will play the villain. The trailer shows David Corenswet as Clark Kent at key moments in his life as a superhero and journalist.
In the first preview of Superman Furthermore, the hero is seen being both praised and hated by Metropolis and the world. Rachel Brosnahan makes some fleeting appearances as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult shows a dangerous Lex Luthor. In the film De Faría will play the villain Angela Spica, also known as The Engineer.
The film, written and directed by James Gunn, has generated great expectations since production began in early March in Atlanta, United States. It will be released in theaters on July 11, 2025.
In the case of the Venezuelan actress, this year images were published in which it was shown how it will look in the film. Photos of De Faría wearing a gray suit with black details, and her hair combed with slicked back hair were released on social media.

María Gabriela de Faría’s role as Angela Spica, a villain whose powers derive from the nanotechnology in her body, promises to add an intriguing dynamic to the Superman universe. The character, created by Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitchhas been a major part of DC comics since its 1999 debut in The Authority.
Although the exact plot of the film has been kept secretit is known that it will focus on a version of Superman already established as the protector of the world. The hero will have a network of allies at his disposal.
Additionally, Gunn has teased that the superhero’s origin story will not take up much of the footage, suggesting a fresh and different approach for this delivery.
