There are very few hours left until, after months of rumors, leaks and statements, DC Studios releases the first preview of Superman. This next James Gunn project is, as expected, one of the most anticipated by fans. However, there are also those who are concerned that the film prioritizes humor over the heroic spirit of the Man of Steel.

In a recent and fascinating meeting with the press to present the film’s trailer, James Gunn explained that, although Superman He will have his share of humor, as happens in almost all his projects, this will not be the central axis of the film. In addition, he assured that it will be, by far, the most serious production he has worked on.

“It’s fun, but certainly not as comedic as The Suicide Squad or Guardians of the Galaxy. There’s humor, of course, but we’ve tried to create something with more substance and, at the same time, an incredibly fantasy world,” said Gunn. Likewise, he revealed that he has been inspired by elements of other productions such as Game of Thrones to shape this vision of Superman.

Everything seems to indicate that, although David Corenswet will seek to embody the new “sign of hope” of DC Studios with his version of Superman, he will also present a jovial and charismatic Clark Kent. Although Gunn’s films often include moments of lighthearted humor, the director has also demonstrated his ability to create emotionally intense scenes that deeply connect with audiences. Therefore, it will be interesting to discover this new facet of Gunn in his reinterpretation of the Man of Steel.
