The great moment is approaching when we can finally enjoy the first trailer of ‘Superman’the first film in the DC Universe James Gunn. The producer and director, despite his transparency, has been leaving details in dribs and drabs, but as the most anticipated trailer of the moment approaches, he has seen fit to reveal new information, anticipating that, unlike in ‘The Man of Steel’by Zack Snyder, we will not discover the origins of the hero, but everything will start now “in the middle of the action”.
“Superman already exists, Lois and Clark already know each other”Gunn begins by explaining. “Lex hates Superman from the beginning, even though they don’t know each other personally, so we start in the middle of the action. It takes place at a moment a little ahead in time.”
“The relationship between the characters of David (Corenswet, Clark Kent) and Rachel (Brosnahan, Lois Lane) on screen is something we have never seen before,” continues the director. “I hate to say these things, but I don’t think it’s something we’ve ever seen in a superhero movie.”.
“It’s a complicated relationship and we really get into it, there are long scenes about the way they relate, and What would it be like for an incredibly intelligent, strong-minded person, and a skeptical journalist, to associate with someone who could build a skyscraper?”. And Gunn clarifies that Lois “knows who Superman is.”
Gunn also details what the tone of the film will be like, since there are fans worried that ‘Superman’ has an excessive sense of humor, and that it doesn’t really go with some superheroes. “There is some humor, but it is not as comical as ‘Suicide Squad’ or ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ can be.”says Gunn. “People like Rachel are very funny, so is David, so there is humor, but they are trying to create something grounded, but also a world that is fantastic, it is fantasy.”
When is ‘Superman’ released?
‘Superman’ will be released next July 11coinciding in the same month with another superhero production, although this time from Marvel Studios: ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’. After her will come ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’which will be based on the story in vignettes by one of the great DC Comics scriptwriters of today, Tom King.
