In April 2023, Warner Bros. Discovery announced that the famous story of “Harry Potter” would be adapted to the screen again, but this time in serie. Thus, more than one already wants to meet the new actors who will play Harry, Ron Weasley y Hermione Grangerreplacing Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint y Emma Watsonrespectively. According to Deadline, a total of 32 thousand children have applied for the casting of the series with the intention of playing one of the three main roles: Harry, Ron o Hermione.
Among the requirements that those selected must comply with, include:
- Be between 9 and 11 years old in April 2025
- Living in the UK or Ireland
- Present a video with a poem or story unrelated to “Harry Potter”
- Send a second presentation video of no more than one minute in length
- Consider casting to be inclusive of all races, ethnicities, and gender identities
It should be noted that applications closed on October 31, 2024, so all that remains is to wait until the official announcement of the young performers chosen.

After reviewing the audition tapes, it is speculated that the casting director’s team Lucy Bevan has begun to do “chemistry readings” with the applicants who passed the first stage… until they are reduced to three.
Apparently, the process will be long, considering that the commitment of the artists is required throughout 10 yearstime in which the entire story is expected to be narrated.
Perhaps that is why the production delayed its premiere until 2027…year in which the first season would adapt the book “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”.

- Cillian Murphy como Voldemort
- Mark Rylance y Mark Strong como Dumbledore
- Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape
- Brett Goldstein como Hagrid
