What is promised is a debt: Sony Pictures presents the first trailer for ‘Karate Kid: Legends‘, new installment of the franchise that brings together Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio for the first time.
However, its protagonist is Ben Wang, who plays Li Fong, a kung fu prodigy who, after a family tragedy, is forced to leave his home in Beijing and move to New York with his mother. Li struggles to leave his past behind while trying to fit in with his new classmates, and although he doesn’t want to fight, trouble seems to find him everywhere.
When a new friend needs his help, Li enters a karate competition, but his skills are not enough. Li’s kung fu teacher, Mr. Han (Chan), enlists the help of the original Karate Kid, Daniel LaRusso (Macchio), and Li learns a new way to fight, merging his two styles into one for the ultimate showdown of martial arts.
Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley and Ming-Na Wen complete the main cast of ‘Karate Kid: Legends‘, a film directed by Jonathan Entwistle, known for being the creator of ‘The End of the F***ing World’and written by Rob Lieber, screenwriter of ‘Peter Rabbit’which will be released in theaters worldwide on May 30, 2025.
