James Cameron nevertheless revealed to the media Deadline what Terminator : Dark Fate could be the starting point for a new trilogy. “We spent several weeks laying the groundwork for the story and figuring out what kind of story we wanted to tell, so that we had a synopsis to pitch to Linda Hamilton. We rolled up our sleeves and came up with a story arc spread over three films, because there's a huge story to tell if we're lucky to make money with Dark Fate, we know exactly where to go with the next films.” he declared.
