One of the biggest hits of the year, Deadpool & Wolverine continues to reveal its little secrets. Actor Ryan Reynolds recently revealed that Kevin Feige censored a joke about the Disney classic.
Deadpool & Wolverine : Kevin Feige a dit non !
After many years of waiting, fans were finally able to discover the film this summer Deadpool & Wolverine, the third film about the craziest mercenary in the history of comics and the first under the Disney label. Not content with bringing Hugh Jackman back to the fold, after the Australian actor announced that he was done with Wolverine, the third film Deadpool East a nice homage to the Marvel films of 21st Century Fox. The film was a huge success, beating a record previously held by Joker by Todd Phillips: the highest-grossing R-rated film at the global box office.
In addition to its graphic violence, one of the keys to the success of Deadpool is obviously its trashy and often meta humor. Although Kevin Feige, the great architect of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, had declared that he was ready to produce an R-rated film, many fans feared that the first film Deadpool of the Disney era is too wise and too polite. Ultimately, Ryan Reynolds was given a free hand and the character’s DNA was fully respected.
During an interview with Andrew Garfield for the program Actor on Actor from the American media VarietyRyan Reynolds revealed that during the first working sessions on Deadpool 3although no script had been written, the American actor proposed to Kevin Feige a hilarious crossover with the hunter who killed Bambi in the animated classic from the Disney studio. Which he was obviously refused.
I proposed an idea where it was a two-actor film with me and the hunter who killed Bambi’s mother. His response was: ‘Hands off Bambi, Ryan.’
If we would have loved to see what the interactions between Wade Wilson and the hunter would have resulted in, we understand the reasons for Kevin Feige’s refusal. No doubt that the head of Marvel Studios did not want to damage the family image of one of the icons of the Disney group. We also remember that Ryan Reynolds claimed a few weeks ago that Feige had censored this ultra trashy joke about Mickey Mouse, the symbol of the group with big ears.
