This exhibition, open until January 15, 2025, presents unpublished creations by Yamou at the Delacroix Gallery in Tangier, which expresses his artistic vision while experimenting with new approaches. During the inauguration, the public was able to appreciate the richness and originality of the works on display, testifying to the talent of the artist.
Through his new paintings, Yamou attempts to transcend the boundaries of nature by merging art, science and the environment. He explores ecological fundamentals which he presents to art lovers through paintings, drawings and sculptures inspired by nature. The artist explains that he strives to create autonomous ecosystems through concrete symbols, thus helping to preserve ecological balance and encouraging reflection on space and the passage of time.

Abderrahim Yamou describes his work as a three-part project: “The work that I am showing this time is a work in three parts; I present drawings, sculptures and paintings. The drawings represent blind characters, a metaphor for our blindness to nature. The second part is a series of paintings that I have been developing for several months, a form of sublimation of nature.»
He adds that “the third part consists of sculptures where I try to respond to the state of climate emergency. These sculptures, which I call autonomous gardens, aim to collect water from the air. Some sculptures also symbolize a form of rebirth: they are dead tree trunks inside which I make living plants grow.».
But Yamou does not limit himself to representing nature. In his recent works, he strives to reveal the soul of nature, part of a contemporary vision where art becomes a means of reconciliation with the living and a way of awakening our sensitivity to the fragility of the balance of our world.
