Released at the start of the week, this new French action film is already number 1 film on Netflix. Inspired by Fast and Furious, the feature film mixes heist, motocross and family history for a plot that rushes at 100 miles an hour.
For several years, Netflix has invested massively in the production of films to offer them on its platform. If obviously the American market is favored by this initiative, France is not left out and not only for comedies. Indeed, French action films are often featured on Netflix and allow directors to present their vision of this genre. This year alone, we can cite the example of The Wages of Fear by Julien Leclercq with Franck Gastambide, Alban Lenoir and Sofiane Zermani which was released last March. But at the start of the week, Netflix has released a new French action film online which is already number one in the platform's top films: GTMAX.

A French action film like Fast and Furious?
As its name suggests, GTMAX is a French action film where motorcycles play a central role. We follow the adventures around Soélie (Ava Baya), a young motocross prodigy who saw his career shattered after a road accident that traumatized him to the point of no longer being able to take the handlebars again. From now on, she prefers to train her brother Michael (Riadh Belaïche, better known as Just Riadh) to take up the torch.
Unfortunately, their parents (whose father is played by Gérard Lanvin) tell them that they have a debt of €150,000 and that the bank forces them to resell their house and the motocross circuit that the children have always known. Determined not to sit idly by, Michael will join forces with Tmax pilots for a heist in Paris which will not go as planned. To save both her brother and her parents, Soélie will have to face her worst demons and get back on a motorcycle so that everything returns to normal..
Netflix and French action films, a great love story!
While GTMAX is number one in the top films on Netflix, it is directed by Olivier Schneider, known for having taken care of the first season of Playground since canceled, and who is already working on a new action film called Les Orphelins with Alban Lenoir scheduled for next year and produced by Gaumont. In production, we find one of the producers of Lost Ball and Aka, two other French action films on Netflix with Alban Lenoir (him again) in the title role.
However, GTMAX is starting a little worse than the latter for the moment because on Allociné, the film has a rating of 3.0 from the press, but only from 3 reviews, while spectators are harsher with an average 2.2 from 49 ratings and 9 reviews. In any case, if you are a Netflix subscriber, it's up to you to form your own opinion since the film has been available since November 20.
