“Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking” will arrive on November 15 on Max. This is a cooking competition filmed in the film studios, and with actors from the saga.
To sink your teeth into the magic, Warner, which is currently producing a “Harry Potter” series for HBO, will unveil this November 15 a sort of little early Christmas gift for all fans of the saga: “Harry Potter: Pastry Wizards. The show hosted by James and Oliver Phelps (who played twins Fred and George Weasley in the films), will keep audiences spellbound with fantastical edible creations inspired by the world created by JK Rowling.
The height of delight for all the faithful of the “wizarding world”, some of their idols will be invited to judge the preparations, namely former students and professors of Hogwarts, like Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) and Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley).
The competition begins with a giant episode in which nine teams of pastry chefs are tasked with creating massive edible pieces. As evidenced by the trailer below, some of the achievements are very impressive. Beautiful for the eyes, they also seem to delight their tasters…
Mythical film locations
Not to miss a beat, the show, which was filmed in the studios that hosted the filming of the films, reveals the inside. Fans will recognize many mythical locations, props and settings such as Platform 9¾, the Great Hall, Gringotts Bank, Diagon Alley, and the Forbidden Forest.
At the end of the competition, the winners will receive the “Wizards of Baking Cup” and have the chance to appear in a new Harry Potter cookbook.
The “Wizards of Baking” program (its original title) is one of the many projects intended to keep the magic of “Harry Potter” alive and well. As Variety recalls, it marks the start of “a new wave of Harry Potter products carefully orchestrated by Warner Bros., ranging from television series to video games, theme parks, high-end products and experiences live”.
The centerpiece of this ambition, the series will in fact be called upon to undertake the heavy and difficult mission of extending the franchise, born in 1997 with the first part of the series of successful novels by JK Rowling, by offering new versions of the characters and universes that Harry Potter fans of yesterday and today worship.
Variety also points out that the launch of the campaign with “Wizards of Baking” is a nod to WarnerMedia’s merger with Discovery. The two entertainment and media giants, which have joined forces as part of a $43 billion merger in 2022, each benefit from their respective know-how, films for one, television shows for the other.
Deliciously sweet and regressive, perfect for getting into the holiday spirit, “Harry Potter: Wizards of Pastry” will arrive on November 15 on Max.
