“Les Beaux Gosses”: acne and rolling of the shovel!

“Les Beaux Gosses”: acne and rolling of the shovel!

Movie session and nostalgia session this evening, on Cstar, with shovel rolling! It’s important to roll the shovel. Especially when you're in third grade and trying to exist among the other college students.

It's vital to know how to kiss a girl or a boy. Even if your face full of acne is somewhat unsightly. Hervé, for his part, only thinks about that: picking up a girl. He thinks about it, but for action, fortunately Aurore is at the initiative. The first kiss takes place at the foot of the building where Hervé lives. To Aurore who asks her not to always turn her tongue in the same direction, the teenager's response: “It's my style of shovel rolling. Everyone has their own style. Fortunately not everyone has the same technique !”

Very proud of this kiss, Hervé can finally answer the technical questions of his best friend, Camel (played by Anthony Sonigo): what to do with the drool? Isn't it leaking down the sides? “Isn’t that leaking?” Camel asks him. Hervé explains everything to him, sticking a finger in his mouth to make him better understand the movements of the tongue.

Vincent Lacoste chosen from 500 kids

This is one of the memorable scenes from this cult film, The Beautiful Kidsby Riad Sattouf, with Vincent Lacoste in the lead role, 14 years old at the time and chosen from among 500 other kids.

However, Vincent Lacoste almost missed out on this project. He often told the story: the day before the first day of filming, when he was ordered to stay at home, the teenager went to have fun at a punk-rock concert. One pogo later, knee dislocation! Filming started late and Vincent Lacoste was a little limping…

How can we explain the success of this film? No doubt because we've all been there… By this moment in life where we juggle with emotions, with this lack of self-confidence, this fear of reaching out to others, this need to assert ourselves too. . And those looks! Those of others. Who judge, who hurt sometimes, or who, conversely, give you a feeling of omnipotence when you achieve your goals…

The first times

Adolescence and its first times are complicated. The first rakes, the first X-rated films watched with friends, the first parties, the first glasses of alcohol and those hormones that never stop disturbing the body, and make any teenager nervous in front of their parents.

Hervé hates being disturbed by his mother. In his room and especially in the bathroom. A depressed single mother – played by the brilliant Noémie Lvovsky – who wonders why her son stays in the room for so long. “You were masturbating? What were you thinking,” she said, smiling. Hervé's irritation: “Ah you! It's good, intimacy, modesty, you know?” And he breaks down: “You’re pissing me off,” he repeats. “You’re annoying me! If this continues, I’ll call Enfance Maltraitée,” screams Hervé. “Call! You will find yourself in a home, you will be very happy,” replies the mother.

By the way, Vincent Lacoste kissed a girl for the first time at the age of… 14, and it was this kiss filmed, with the tongue, and with Aurore (Alice Tremolières), for the needs of the film.
