A little less than two months of patience before the release ofAgainst the grain 2 on Prime Video. The streaming platform recently unveiled a trailer which allows us to have more details on the sequel… and to build up some theories!
It’s a film that we’ve been waiting for over a year! In June 2023, Prime Video unveiled on its streaming platform Against the graina feature film adapted from the novels by Mercedes Ron which stars Nicole Wallace and Gabriel Guevara – since seen on Netflix in Not one more – in the roles of Noah and Nick. The first is going to move in with the second when his mother decides to leave everything to live with her new lover, who is none other than Nick’s father. Problem, Nick is very sexy and that doesn’t escape Noah. If their relationship starts off badly, the two young adults end up getting closer and falling into each other’s arms. All the ingredients were there for success and there was no shortage of success: Against the grain is one of the most viewed non-English films on Prime Video and has long occupied the top 10 most viewed films, even months after its release. The streaming platform has therefore ordered a second part, but also a third which will be released soon. After the release of the trailer, available at the top of the article, we established some theories about the continuation of Noah and Nick’s story.
Even more intimate scenes on the program for the sequelAgainst the grain
In the first film Against the grainthe tension was at its maximum between Noah and Nick, who ultimately only shared an intimate scene – certainly very hot – on the beach. It would seem that the sulfurous scenes will, however, be much more present in the sequel if we are to believe the trailer which shows that there will be action again at the seaside… The fact that there is more intimate scenes is completely normal since Nick and Noah will now officially be a couple, no offense to their parents…
Nick’s mother could wreak havoc in Against the grain 2
The trailer reveals the face of Nick’s mother, who abandoned him and his little sister. We imagine that the sequel should reveal more about the reasons for his departure. But it is also predicted that this return will sow chaos. What if Nick’s mother decided to help Noah’s mother and Nick’s father to separate them? In any case, it is very likely that his return to his son’s life will bring some tension between Nick and Noah.

Even though it breaks our hearts to write it, a breakup between Nick and Noah seems completely inevitable at the end of the second part ofAgainst the grain. Firstly because the trailer – and in particular the last scene – clearly suggests a break, but above all because it is a great classic of films of the genre. A separation would, however, only be temporary since we bet that the two characters will get back together in the third part, a bit like was the case for Ares and Raquel in the saga Through my window.
