Damien Leone had already largely created a surprise with his first two Terrifierwhich escaped the niche of artisanal gore to enter international distribution circuits. Terrifier 2in particular, had caused as much ink to flow as blood when it had exceeded 15 million dollars in revenue, thanks to a budget of barely 250,000. But this is nothing compared to the score of its successor , who, at the time of writing, has already won the double, even beating the post during his first weekend a Joker 2 hardly. As a reminder, since Terrifier 2the nemesis of the murderous clown Art is a woman named Sienna. As for Vicky, the disfigured survivor of the first, she now commits massacres alongside Art, possessed by a demon. At the end of Terrifier 3the two friends tie up Sienna and kill the couple who had welcomed her. Vicky tries to possess her, but is pierced, then decapitated with the weapon capable of killing her. His blood forms a portal to the underworld, which engulfs young Gabbie. Art flees through the window and Sienna vows to find her protégé. Art, now alone, gets on a bus.

« […] I think the moment that excited me the most was the ending, because from the first version of the script, I loved how Damien [Leone] finished this film. It’s not one of those happy endings, it ends more or less on a cliffhanger, and I found that fascinating, because I thought it left these two characters in a very similar mental state, a very vulnerable mental state in both cases. »
Vulnerable, Art the Clown? A little, according to the actor, who also sees it as a good way to introduce the future Terrifier 4.
“I feel like it gives us an interesting starting point for the next film, and a lot of new possibilities to explore with these characters, especially Art. I think we can no longer rely on his psychological state now, because he has lost a lot and he really has to deal with grief. I can’t wait to see what we can do with him in the next film.”
The next Terrifier will it be a poignant psychological drama about the loss of a loved onewhere poor Art will regain a taste for life by opening his heart to others?
