Fans of the franchise Scream can finally put a cross on their calendar: the seventh part of the horrific saga will be released in French theaters on February 25, 2026.
The announcement was made on social networks by Neve Campbell herself, who is making her comeback in the series after having shunned the sixth opus for a story of too low salary.
A comeback which promises to delight die-hard fans of Sidney Prescott, after months of doubts about the return of the famous franchise.
An eventful production
In fact, we can say that Scream 7 comes a long way. Between production delays, creative reshuffles and casting changes, the film experienced twists and turns worthy of one of the films in the franchise! Melissa Barrera, star of the two previous parts, was fired after controversial comments on social networks about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Jenna Ortega followed, happy to escape the controversies to concentrate on the filming of Wednesday.
Finally, it was director Christopher Landon who finally threw in the towel in December 2023, describing the project as “a dream job that turned into a nightmare”. It was ultimately Kevin Williamson, co-creator of the franchise, who took the reins of the project.
It now remains for fans to be patient. They can console themselves by saying that Ghostface will have plenty of time to sharpen his knife in a year and a half!
