The first image of David Corenswet as Superman has arrived, and obviously everyone is already excited about it.
It’s the moment fans have been waiting for with each new version of a cult superhero in Hollywood (the third time for Superman in less than 20 years): the very first image in costumewhich can fuel debates and arguments on social networks for a few weeks/months.
After Christopher Reeve in the Superman from the 70s and 80s, Brandon Routh in Superman ReturnsHenry Cavill in Man of Steeland the infernal Nicolas Cage species of The Flash (if we can’t forget him, then neither can you), it’s David Corenswet’s turn to don the leggings and tights to carry the superhero flame created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster in 1933.
To remember: even if it is James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy, The Suicide Squad) at the helm, the new Superman seems very serious. Perhaps because the apocalypse is falling in the background on Metropolis.

This new movie Superman (formerly titled Superman Legacy) has the heavy task of relaunching the DC universe, after a DCEU that ended in blood sausage with multiple stomachs (Shazam 2, The Flash, Blue Beetle, Aquaman 2).
The character of Superman particularly suffered from this behind-the-scenes chaos, with a Man of Steel 2 awaited for years, a Snyder Cut which attempted to patch up its arc in Justice Leagueand a return at the end of Black Adam… for nothing. Henry Cavill was expected to return to face Dwayne Johnson but all plans were scrapped at the end of 2022, when Warner Bros. has hired James Gunn and Peter Safran as co-presidents of DC Films.
Objective: start from scratch. This Superman is therefore the first film of the first chapter of the new DC universe, titled “Chapter One: Gods and Monsters”. Then it should happen Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (with Milly Alcock, who will appear in Superman), The Authoritythe Batman movie The Brave and the Bold, Swamp Thing And Teen Titans. In any case, if everything goes as planned.
