Chris Evans returning to Marvel in Avengers: Secret Wars?

Chris Evans returning to Marvel in Avengers: Secret Wars?

It’s been almost exactly five years (how time flies, there are no more seasons my good lady) sinceAvengers: Endgame has climbed into the all-time top of the world box office. So it’s been almost exactly five years since we said goodbye to Steve Rogers, played by Chris Evans within the MCU. The latter decided to age in the past in the company of Peggy Carter and it was an old man who bequeathed his shield to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) so that he could take over the role. Same hero, but not same person – or even actor – for the next one Captain America: Brave New World.

Chris Evans has therefore joined the original members who carried the Marvel Studios universe on their shoulders and who have now moved on: Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson. The end of an era, the beginning of a new one. Except that the new era is struggling a little to make a lasting impression with films and series whose critical and commercial returns are well below the golden age of the MCU.

Call it a coincidence, but strangely, it’s the moment everyone chose to say something about a potential return. Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans all have a similar speech: there is no question of coming back if there is not a real interest in the character in this resurrection, that they are proud of what they have accomplished, but that they will always remain attached to Marvel and that they will be able to respond if Kevin Feige shouts “Avengers, gather!” ». However, everyone denies having had any contact with the man in the cap on this subject, so for the moment, everything is conditional.

Captain America in Avengers: Secret Wars?

Speaking of conditionals, if we’re talking to you about all this today, it’s because dear Chris Evans is the subject of a little rumor concerning the MCU’s plans. It appears that the actor has agreed to appear in Avengers: Secret Wars which is still scheduled for release here on May 5, 2027.

According to this same rumor, Kevin Feige and his troops would consider bringing together the six original members of the Avengers in this sixth dedicated opus and that Evans would be the first on the list to have agreed to return.

So, obviously, we will be careful to validate this rumor or not, especially since we are not going to lie, there is no more prolific subject to theories than the MCU and between rumor and reality , there is often a gap.

However, if we were to show a little credulity, the return of Chris Evans (and the others?) withinAvengers 6 And 7 is easily achievable since Marvel Studios opened the door to the multiverse. The Steve Rogers we knew is no more, but what about his variants from other universes? Especially since the very principle of Secret Wars – especially with the remake of the arc carried out by the comics some time ago – is good to confront several versions of our heroes. So as Chris Evans himself declares, we should not ” never say never “.

And then we want to put a piece on a new participation of the actor in the MCU well before Secret Wars. We know that he never says no to a little cameo for friends and it turns out that his friend Ryan Reynolds will soon be starring in a little film that you may not have heard of, Deadpool & Wolverine.

Film which will highlight several former figures from the superheroic universe of Fox with, obviously, at the forefront, those belonging to the X-Men. But we must not forget that Fox also gifted us (oops) with three films devoted to Fantastic 4, with, for two of them, in the role of the Human Torch, a certain Chris Evans. We start betting.
