Barbarian: this critically acclaimed horror film finally arrives on Netflix
Descriptive text here

Barbaric caused a sensation when it was released and it’s finally coming to Netflix. The film addresses original themes that everyone can identify with. His special treatment earned him praise from the press.

Barbaric, released in 2022, caused a sensation when it arrived on screens. Its director, Zach Cregger, was able to strike a major blow in a genre that is unfamiliar to him. Indeed, the filmmaker was particularly known for Miss March that he wrote and directed, a comedy for teenagers which is far from the horror of Barbaric. On the casting side, we find Bill Skarsgård who, on the contrary, is used to screams and fear since he plays Pennywise in the films That. For those who wish to (re)discover this critically acclaimed feature film, it will be available on May 2 on Netflix.

What is Barbare about?

The heroine of the film, Tess, played by Georgina Campbell, is looking for a job and lands an interview far from home. To get there, she rents accommodation on Air BnB. However, upon arriving there, she realizes that the premises are already occupied by Keith, played by Bill Skarsgård. The man appears cold and strange, but Tess has no choice and must stay for lack of other options. Following this, events will take place, each more abominable and disconcerting than the last.

A film highly appreciated by critics

If Barbaric has been so acclaimed, it is partly thanks to the fact that it addresses themes not common in horror films. Indeed, the film addresses the contemporary subject of Air BnB rental, but also more generally of the trust placed in strangers on the internet.

This worrying situation in which Tess finds herself can be compared to any appointment agreed on an online platform: Tinder, LeBonCoin, or any social network. In short, the film relies on the experiences of the spectators to create fear. We are moving away from zombie or demon feature films which are much less empirical.

Barbarian on Netflix with SFR

Without being able to say more, Barbaric was also praised for the twists and turns it implemented. It is these various points which have earned it the excellent rating of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, a press rating aggregator. See you next Thursday, May 2, on Netflix to discover the surprises that have in store Barbaric.
