Encounter of the Third Kind

Dhe unexplainable phenomena are occurring all over the world, preludes to an alien landing that is to take place in Wyoming. Well, not them precisely, nice brachycephalic beings who are still moving. But everything precedes their appearance: a patriotic and humorless painting of deep America, with special effects which, spectacular in their time, no longer have anything special. No longer a praise of candor which often borders on sentimentality… However, the last sequences, where the title of the film is illustrated, have lost none of their poetry: we finally see these pacifist extraterrestrials (the main originality of the film ), and their delicate grace stands out very pleasantly in the middle of this military-scientific bric-a-brac where the Earthlings awaited them in their all-too-human way.
