A recent poster of Fantastic 4 revealed by Marvel relaunches an interesting rumor, about the Multiverse, the main axis of phases 4, 5 and 6 of the MCU.

After two films in 2005 and 2007, and a fairly disastrous reboot in 2015, fantastic Four will attempt another comeback next year. The adventures of Reed Richards, Sue Storm and her brother Johnny Storm as well as Ben Grim are highly anticipated. The characters created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1961 will be played by actors and actresses who are breaking the small screen in the best series of the moment: Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us, Narcos, Game of Thrones, The Mandalorian), Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things), Vanessa Kirby (The Crown) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear).
Facing them, Julia Garner (excellent in Ozark) will play the female version of the Silver Surfer. A bold choice which nevertheless earned Marvel some criticism on the networks. On the other hand, the return of the Silver Surfer (after his introduction in 2007) is a good thing, since it could allow‘introduce Galactus (the two characters are linked), villain that fans ardently demand.

an intriguing new poster
Marvel Studios has not confirmed the presence of Galactus in the feature film scheduled for 2025. For the moment, these are only rumors, and no actor has been mentioned to play him. We know that speculation has always fueled MCU films. Recently, the release of a poster of the film fueled a new rumorthis time relating to the universe in which Matt Shakman’s film is set.
On the poster in question, we see The Human Torch drawing with its flames the logo of the Fantastic 4. But a city with a very retro-futuristic design stands out in the backgroundwhich recalls the futurism of the 60s, and which therefore seems to have no connection with Earth-616.
From then on, the film would be set in an alternative universe according to some fans. A theory fueled by Marvel and Disney insider Daniel Richtman. This echoes the first official poster for the film, presenting the team in a retro living room, in the company of a robot. However, we know that the film will take place in the 60s, and director Matt Shakman likes to incorporate retro elements into his projects. We saw it in the miniseries WandaVision, of which he is the creator.
We then wait for other information, such as new visuals or a trailer to see if this theory has weight. The production of Fantastic Four should start this summer, and the film is expected in theaters in July 2025.
