CINEMA – Who to succeed Cillian Murphy? This Wednesday, April 24, several American media, including Deadlinegave the first names of those who were chosen to compose the cast of the sequel to 28 Days Latercult horror film by Danny Boyle which revealed the Irish actor in 2002.

Among them, we find Jodie Comer (Killing Eve, The last duel), Ralph Fiennes (Harry Potter, The English patient) and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, also tipped to play the new James Bond.

According to Deadlinethis new film by Danny Boyle, to whom we owe in particular Trainspotting And Slumdog Millionaireis titled 28 Years Later (in French version, 28 years later) and will be the first in a future trilogy. The director will meet Alex Garland (Ex Machina, Civil War) when writing the screenplay.

No details of the plot have yet been revealed, but we know that each of the three new films will benefit from a large budget: $75 million, indicates the Guardian. This is far from the 8 million that the first part received in 2002.

In 28 Days Later, Cillian Murphy played a bicycle courier who, after a long coma, wakes up in a postapocalyptic world. A virus has ravaged the United Kingdom, where infected residents have transformed into dangerous bloodthirsty zombies. A sequel already exists: it is 28 weeks later, directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo. The Irish actor, Oscar winner for his role in Oppenheimerwas not part of it and his return in 28 years later has not yet been confirmed.
