After four seasons at Ducati, Jorge Martin is preparing to take on a new challenge at Aprilia.
32 podiums, including 8 victories, 20 pole positions, and a world champion title… Jorge Martin's figures at Ducati are remarkable. And yet, the Borgo Panigale firm has decided to recruit Marc Marquez into the official team.
Martin therefore decided to join the Aprilia clan which opened its arms to him the day after the Italian Grand Prix last year. The Madrilenian discovered the RS-GP during the official test in Barcelona. Still under contract with Ducati, he was unable to deliver his impressions.
It was during the team presentation in Milan last Thursday that he was finally able to express himself in his new colors. “I am very excited about this new challenge: winning with Aprilia,” he confided. My goals are very clear. We must now focus on the best version of ourselves, this goes for Aprilia as well as for me. I am in the right place to do great things, it will be an exciting challenge, we are all very determined. I really feel the warmth of being part of this team, and I think it's the perfect place for me. We are all excited to start this new season. »
A new RS-GP
-Romano Albesiano having left Aprilia to join HRC, Fabiano Stelacchini, former right-hand man of Gigi Dall'Igna, is now the technical director of the Noale factory. A new version of RS-GP has been developed. Everything has been reviewed: electronics, aero, engine… “It’s a real pleasure for me to start this new adventure with Aprilia Racing,” declared the Italian. The goal for 2025 is to remain competitive at all times, both in Sprints and longer races, in order to achieve the best possible results throughout the season. »
As a reminder, Aprilia was the only manufacturer to have deprived Ducati of a perfect 2024 season thanks to Maverick Viñales' victory in Austin… but this success was also the brand's only podium during the year.
