EWC, Alexis Masbou announces his sporting retirement

After 25 years traveling circuits around the world, Alexis Masbou announces that he is ending his sporting career. Driver in the world speed championship for more than ten years, he then took the path of Endurance, in search of new challenges. His future plans, however, will focus on trackside activity.

French Grand Prix winner, Alexis Masbou represented the interests of French fans from 2003 to 2016, in 125cc, then in Moto3. Since his withdrawal from the smallest of the world classes, the Frenchman was looking for new challenges in the Endurance World Championship (EWC). After having written great pages of his career in the category, he made the decision to retire from competition.

As he announced this Wednesday, he will not sign for a new adventure in Endurance in 2025. Instead, he will focus on many other projects.

“It’s time to announce it to you: I’m putting an end to my sporting career, confides Alexis Masbou on his Instagram account this Wednesday. This choice marks the end of an extraordinary chapter, punctuated by challenges, victories, moments of doubt, but above all an immeasurable passion for this sport! From my first laps on the circuit in 2000 to the biggest world competitions, each race has been a life lesson and a unique adventure engraved in my heart. »

“During these 25 years, so many of you have helped me, challenged me, encouraged me and supported me,
he continues. My family, my friends, my teams, my sponsors, and you, the supporters: each of you has played an essential role in this journey. I will never have enough words to express my gratitude, because alone, none of this would have been possible. »

As he explained during our discussions with him last December, this sporting retirement will not take him away from the world of motorcycles. Hired as a coach for the French Federation since 2021, Alexis Masbou will continue to train the young generation, with the ambition of sending a Frenchman to the world championship in the years to come.

“This retirement is not a farewell to motorcycling, but the beginning of a new way of living this passion that has driven me since my first rides. Thank you all for your unwavering support, trust and encouragement throughout these years. Thanks to you, this trip was much more beautiful than I could have imagined.” concludes the main person concerned.
