The boss of KTM Motorsport, Pit Beirer, delivered a long interview to the promoter of the MotoGP world championship. Here is the second part, dedicated to the departure of Fabiano Sterlacchini to Aprilia, and what this means for the future of the development of the RC16.

“Yes, with Fabiano, he was the type of guy who was comfortable on the circuit and who tried to do everything. Now we have clearly made a separation. Sebastian (Risse) is 100% responsible for our technical decisions at the circuit, along with Aki (Ajo). »

“At home, we have a very strong team in terms of engine and chassis. They will take on other responsibilities, as will our Test Team Program Manager, Dani Pedrosa. You can almost see this as a team or committee, where all the names I just mentioned will make decisions after each race. »

“It will not be an individual project but a team effort to take this new step. I am convinced that one person cannot decide everything for a MotoGP project. You need to cover many segments and therefore have a solid team. This is what we are working on. We are not looking for a technical director. »

“We think we have the right people on board to take a new step. We know it's necessary, so we don't rest on our laurels thinking that everything will come by itself. There is considerable effort to be made to resolve the last mile problem in this category. »
