The Barcelona Official Test marked the first outing on the track on a MotoGP for the three rookies who will take part in the 2025 season. During these seven hours of riding, they had to learn to explore the limits of their machine, and each one crossed, falling. An experience that Pedro Acosta also had last year with Valencia. Whether it was Somkiat Chantra (LCR Honda), Ai Ogura (Trackhouse Racing) or Fermín Aldeguer (Gresini Ducati), each of the three rookies of the next MotoGP campaign crashed during the Barcelona Official Test, which was held last Tuesday on the Catalan circuit.
A first misadventure in MotoGP which is certainly only the beginning of a long series for each of them, as falls are part of the daily life of MotoGP riders.
Rookie at the dawn of the 2024 season, Pedro Acosta also lost control of his machine during the Valencia Test. Driving session in which he took part with the Tech3 team, the day after the last event of the 2023 season. He was therefore asked what advice he could give to future entrants in the premier category.

I think when I arrived it was worse, because we were riding on Dunlop tires in Moto2, and it was rocky. I think the problem is understanding the tires. In Valencia, turns 2 and 4 are not easy. The KTM rider then reassures them, pointing out the temperatures in force in November in Barcelona as possibly responsible for these approximations.
“There are a lot of factors on a MotoGP that can influence that, adds n°37. It's normal for them to fall, especially since this day was very cold. Maybe if they had come here in May it would have been harder to see them fall in those three corners. For that, it's part of the process. »
