Honda cannot find the solution. Last year, the Japanese firm had a nightmare season, regularly taking the last places in MotoGP Grand Prix. Only Johann Zarco was able to do well in his first season at the helm of LCR-Honda. So obviously, the tests carried out in Barcelona following the last GP of the year were of capital importance for the manufacturer. However, Joan Mir sent a strong response to the engineers, saying she was particularly disappointed at the lack of progress: “That's what I thought [qu’ils avaient bien travaillé]but to be honest, I expected a lot more here. We just need to have new things as quickly as possible, to close the gap with the leaders. I am very surprised by this day, I expected a lot more.”

Zarco invites Mir to respect engineers

Asked to react to his comments, Johann Zarco did not use language to counter the arguments of the 2020 world champion. The Frenchman defended the work carried out by the engineers: “You can't say when you're a driver that Honda isn't working hard enough. He doesn't realize the work people do. I understand that he is disappointed, but he can't say that because everyone is struggling. If the best engineers cannot find the solution, it is not a pilot who will know it better than an engineer. » From now on, the drivers will take advantage of the break to regenerate before returning to the track next February at Sepang.
