Among the three rookies who will begin their MotoGP adventure in 2025, Ai Ogura will join the ranks of Trakchouse Racing, alongside Raul Fernandez. During his first laps on the handlebars of his future machine, which he made this week in Barcelona, the Japanese has already impressed his neighbor in the garage who predicts a rapid adaptation of the latter next year.

Raúl Fernández will be the only rider to stay with Aprilia next year, while the other three riders in the brand's fold will learn to ride the RS-GP. In addition to Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi, Ai Ogura will make his debut in the most prestigious class of the world championship, after winning the Moto2 title.

On the occasion of his first laps with the satellite team, Trackhouse Racing, this Tuesday Ogura was the second best rookie in the field, almost four tenths behind Fermín Aldeguer, equipped for his part with a Ducati from the Gresini team.

After a total of 86 laps completed, the #79 clocked 1:40.946, claiming the 21st time, 2.143 seconds from the lead. His first steps on the handlebars of a MotoGP did not fail to impress his future garage neighbor, Raúl Fernández, who predicts that Ai Ogura will be a tough opponent next year.

“I'm happy to have Ogura [à mes côtés]he's a great talent, and I've seen some pictures of him, comments No. 25 after the Official Test this Tuesday. It brakes well, so it will be fast on a MotoGP. I haven't spoken with him, but soon it will be good for him. I didn't have enough time to see what he did on that first day. »

This Tuesday, a few drivers also tried the new Michelin tire, already tested in Misano during the Official Test which followed the first of the two Grands Prix organized in Italy in September. If the latter was not unanimous at the time, Raúl Fernández said he was rather satisfied with the tours carried out with the latter in Catalonia.

“He is different, confides the Spaniard. Not a big difference, but you have to adopt a different mindset to try it. For me, there is no negative point. »
