Bagnaia wins but loses his title, Martin champion

Francesco Bagnaia dominated the Barcelona Solidarity Grand Prix ahead of Marc Marquez, but it was not enough to take the title. Third of the day, Jorge Martin is the new MotoGP world champion by 10 points ahead of Pecco. The French Fabio Quartararo (11th) and Johann Zarco (14th) finished in the points.

Francesco Bagnaia had one of the best weekends of his career in terms of results in Barcelona. Author of pole position, he led all laps of the sprint on Saturday, then of the race this Sunday. A time put under pressure by Marc Marquezthe Italian did not tremble to win his 11th Grand Prix of the season. But winning wasn't enough. To retain his title of MotoGP world champion, he also had to hope for a misstep Jorge Martin. Which did not break despite the enormous pressure that rested on his shoulders.

Leader for 19 points before the start, the Madrilenian had to finish in the top-9 to be crowned. He moved into second place after a few turns, then put up no resistance to M. Marquez when he attacked him. Well installed in 3rd place, he remained focused until the end to cross the last finish line of the season. At 26, he achieved his greatest dream by winning the supreme title, 10 points ahead Bagnaia.

Second of the day, M. Marquez finished 3rd in the championship ahead of Enea Bastianinicame 7th in Barcelona. The Italian hoped to fight for the podium but the battles fought in the peloton worked against him.
