It was widely anticipated but it is now official: The FIM MotoGP™ Grand Prix World Championship confirms this midday that the 2024 final round will take place in Barcelona in support of Valencia.
The Grand Prix will be organized in solidarity with the Valencian Community, on thehe Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which is preparing to host the Motul Solidarity Grand Prix de Barcelona on the initial dates of November 15-17.
The event was due to take place in Valencia before devastating floods hit the region hard. As this is the last Grand Prix of the season, given the sporting context in which the championship takes place and the positive impact of the event, MotoGP owed it to its fans, to the sport and to Valencia, to organize the event. Instead of racing in Valencia, MotoGP™ will race for Valenciafor all those affected, and for the entire Valencia community.
The organizers of MotoGP™ made a request to the authorities to race in Barcelona because, even if all opinions are in natureit was undoubtedly the best possible choice. The circuit is the easiest option for fans who had already planned to attend the MotoGP™ season finale. The location and circuit are also the most efficient choice, providing a near-continuity alternative for personnel and logistics.
The event will be organized by MotoGP™ which remains true to our policy of having as positive an impact as possible on people, place and planet, wherever a GP is organized. In this case, racing near the Valencian Community will also allow the paddock to put this into action even more directly.
Further information will be communicated to fans as soon as possible who wish to attend the final for the 2024 title, as well as on the various initiatives which will take place throughout the weekend to support the aid provided to Valencia.
According to our information, the number of spectators admitted would be greatly reduced, while all ticket holders for Valencia will be fully refunded.
The first test of the 2025 season is also expected to take place.
