Moto3 is resuming its rights in Malaysia, and it starts again immediately with P1. A week ago, David Alonso (CFMoto Aspar Team) won for the 12th time of the season, setting a new small category record. The Colombian is simply unstoppable and on a five-fight winning streak. Once again, the others will try to slow him down but he is obviously the favorite. Behind, Daniel Holgado (Red Bull GasGas Tech3) is still defending his second position in the championship against Collin Veijer (Husqvarna Liqui Moly Intact GP), but it's getting complicated: the Dutchman was third in Thailand and is getting closer after his zero points in Australia. In Buriram, rookie Luca Lunetta (Honda Sic58 Squadra Corse) came second with the best lap in the race: he is therefore one to watch, just like the usual outsiders Ivan Ortola (KTM MT Helmets MSi) and Adrian Fernandez (Honda Leopard Racing).
Even if you already know the outcome of this session, come relive it with us! Before we begin, here is a table which summarizes the known facts:

After a contested morning in the wet, the Moto3 weekend resumes on a dry track at Sepang. There is also very little wind even though the outside temperature is 33 degrees. The track is 48 degrees when you start.
On the timing side, Adrian Fernandez quickly made a strong impression with a time of 2:11.684, already much faster than those achieved by Jaume Masia and Taiyo Furusato during the Friday of the last edition of the Malaysian GP.
Ryusei Yamanaka and Tatsuki Suzuki then complete the provisional top-3, although they are half a second behind the head of the ranking. The ranking changed little throughout a rather calm session, and David Alonso seemed to take time to find his rhythm. The 2024 Moto3 champion spent most of his Friday afternoon near the top-10, one second behind his rival, Adrian Fernandez.
The action is in full swing during the last five minutes, and most of the drivers return to the track to try to complete a time in the top-14, and thus ensure a potential direct entry into Q2. During this final phase, Adrian Fernandez asserts himself in 2:11.457.
However, David Alonso's awakening was no longer long in coming, and the Colombian took control for the first time in this P1 in 2:11.241. A time that will allow No. 80 to never let them go. It therefore concludes a Friday which did not ideally start in the best way.
