Team instructions or not? Bagnaia’s response

Beaten by Jorge Martin (1st), Marc Marquez (2nd) and Enea Bastianini (3rd) during the Phillip Island sprint, Francesco Bagnaia was not helped by his teammate, who did not hesitate to overtake him. The proof on track that Ducati did not give instructions to Beast…or, if so, that he does not intend to help Bagnaia. And that’s also what number 1 wants.

Questioned on the subject, Bagnaia stressed that if he fights with Martin for the title, Bastianini is competing for third place in the championship against Marc Marquez. All points are therefore valuable. Especially since Bastianini was sidelined by Ducati in favor of Marquez, and therefore has arguments for preferring to play his own cards.

“Marquez was in front of me and Enea is fighting with Marc in the championship. At the moment it is better for Bastianini to do what he does, because next year he will leave (from Ducati) and he wants to finish as high as possible in the standings.”Bagnaia first replied.

Ask Bastianini to help him in the title race? Not the type of Bagnaia, who doesn’t want team instructions: “I never have and I won’t.”he insisted in Australia. He is 16 points behind Martin before this Sunday’s race.
