The main figure to follow is Carlos Serranoa Paralympic multi-medallist and one of the best para-swimmers on the planet who ended a 36-year drought by winning his nation’s first gold.

In Río 2016having come of age, Serrano broke that streak of more than three decades without winning a . Now, eight years after that moment when she covered herself in glory, Serrano arrives in Paris with seven Paralympic medals and numerous world records signed.

Paula Ossa is another star to keep an eye on. She will act as one of the two standard-bearers. Although she started out as a professional skater, an in 2014 changed her life.
