Christian Pulisic is on absolute fire heading into October U.S. men’s national team duty.
Pulisic scored on Sunday for the fourth-straight Serie A match despite AC Milan’s 2-1 road loss at Fiorentina. The USMNT star now has six goals in all competitions for the Rossoneri.
Yacine Adli broke the deadlock for Fiorentina in the 35th minute, giving the hosts a 1-0 lead.
Theo Hernandez was denied from the penalty spot in first-half stoppage time before Tammy Abraham was also repelled by David de Gea in the 56th minute.
However, Pulisic delivered the equalizing goal four minutes later to get Paulo Fonseca’s squad back into the match. Hernandez’s cross from the left wing was flicked back across De Gea’s net for a 1-1 scoreline.
Fiorentina eventually regained its lead in the 73rd minute through Albert Gudmundsson’s go-ahead finish.
Pulisic was substituted off in the 83rd minute, finishing the match with the most offensive chances created (3).
AC Milan could not find a tying goal for the second time, suffering its second league defeat of the season. The Rossoneri will head into the international break, sitting sixth place in the Serie A table.
Pulisic will join up with his USMNT teammates for their first camp under new boss Mauricio Pochettino. The USMNT hosts Panama on October 12 before visiting Mexico on October. 15.
