From behind bulletproof glass… Al-Sisi talks about the losses of “Suez”…

On Sunday, Egyptian regime President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi witnessed the graduation ceremony of a new batch of police academy students behind a bulletproof glass barrier.

Al-Sisi said in his brief speech to the students and attendees that everyone knows what the Egyptian borders pass through from the east, west and south, so you must preserve Egypt and perform your duty to the fullest.

He urged citizens not to listen to what the opposition media is saying these days, accusing him of not conveying the truth about what is happening in Egypt.

Al-Sisi said: “The amount of lies and rumors was very huge.”

He also revealed the impact of the ongoing conflict in the region on the Suez Canal, noting that the canal has lost between 50% and 60% of its revenues since the beginning of the war, which translates into losses estimated at more than $6 billion.

Al-Sisi explained that the current developments pose a threat to stability in the region and may lead to a widening of the conflict.

It is noteworthy that the Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, Lieutenant General Osama Rabie, confirmed that navigation traffic was greatly affected by the Red Sea crisis, as navigation statistics for the fiscal year 2023/2024 showed the transit of 20,148 ships with a total net tonnage of one billion tons, achieving revenues of 7.2 billion dollars. This compares to 25,911 ships in the 2022/2023 fiscal year, with revenues of $9.4 billion.

Criticisms of the military regime were also extended after the Israeli occupation army took control of the Rafah crossing and the Salah al-Din axis, which is parallel to the border strip with Egypt in the Gaza Strip, in violation of the Camp David peace treaty between Egypt and “Israel.”

This is not the first time that Sisi has attended an external event, whether for the police or the army, from behind a bulletproof glass wall.

Al-Sisi always addresses the students of the police or military colleges, from behind a glass barrier, even though they are considered soldiers of Al-Sisi, his military regime, and his long arm at home and abroad.

On the other hand, it is noteworthy that the late Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi did not use a bulletproof glass barrier when he spoke to students of police and army colleges.

Al-Sisi fears the fate of the late Egyptian President Mohamed Anwar Sadat, who was assassinated in a military parade on October 6, 1981, at the hands of a number of members of the armed forces who objected to his repressive measures against the Egyptian people who opposed the peace agreement with the Israeli occupation.
