The political-military regime that rules Algeria with an armed hand, is organizing a new electoral masquerade on September 7, 2024 to try to give itself a legitimacy that it has always lacked. As usual, the current “president”, Mr. Tebboune, is vying
a new mandate and he will be “elected” without any doubt and without any surprise, because that is already decided.
During his term that is ending, what has Mr. Tebboune done for the Amazighs of this country? He filled the prisons, he sentenced some to death, he is at least morally responsible for hundreds of deaths, thousands of exiles, terrible suffering inflicted on
millions of Amazighs, including Kabyles, At-Mzab and Chawis. As supreme head of the Algerian state since 2019, Mr. Tebboune is the trigger for the devastating repressive tsunami that has swept over Kabylie. This territory, a high bastion of Amazighness, is harassed from all sides, subjected to arbitrary police and judicial action that terrorizes the population, leaving them with no choice but silence and exile. The Algerian Arab-Islamic power does not hide its objective of “normalizing” Kabylie by dispossessing it of everything that makes it unique: its language, its culture, its civilization and the spirit of justice and resistance that animates its people. The Algerian power’s project is a clearly eradicating project of Amazighness in Kabylie as in the rest of Algeria.
Like his predecessors, during his term, Mr. Tebboune made no gesture of appeasement, nor attempted the slightest dialogue with the wounded Kabylie. On the contrary, he allowed the supporters of “zero Kabyle” to express themselves, let free the criminals who burned Kabylie particularly in 2021 and imprisoned innocent people and made serious threats against the Kabyles who refuse his diktat.
For all these reasons, Kabylie has never really participated in the Algerian elections, especially since the terrible black spring of 2001. And for all these reasons, the World Amazigh Congress calls on all the Amazighs of Algeria not to participate in the electoral deception of September 7. This will be a masterful way of signifying our rejection of the deadly Algerian system that governs this country by force, fear and corruption.
