Jürgen Klopp celebrated his return to Borussia Dortmund on Saturday as he coached Jakub Blaszczykowski’s team in a memorable testimonial match.

Borussia Dortmund celebrated the careers of Lukasz Piszczek and Jakub Blaszczykowski on Saturday with a testimonial match. Teams led by the Polish legends and featuring some of BVB’s greatest players of all time took part in the farewell match at the Westfalenstadion on Saturday. In the end, Team Kuba, coached by Jürgen Klopp, won the game 5-4.

Klopp also enjoyed a memorable return to Borussia Dortmund and was given a rapturous ovation by the 81,000+ fans at the Westfalenstadion. The 57 year old said that his BVB comeback for the testimonial match was like coming back home.

“It’s like coming home, there are so many great memories. It’s great to see you all again,” Klopp said at the Westfalenstadion. “It’s like a class reunion. It’s what I’ve always dreamed of, meeting up again, having a good time and being able to tell all the stories. A full Signal Iduna Park with great memories for all of us, but above all with the team.”

Jürgen Klopp was the Borussia Dortmund head coach from 2008 to 2015 and led the club to back-to-back Bundesliga titles in 2011 and 2012 as well as the UEFA Champions League final in 2013. He left English Premier League side Liverpool at the end of last season, and is currently enjoying a break from football.
