Today, the second round of the ADNOC Professional Football League concludes with three matches. At 17:55, Al Ain and Al Wahda will play two different matches at Al Bataeh and Khorfakkan, respectively, while Shabab Al Ahli will face a risky mission when they visit Ajman at 20:30.

Al Bataeh x Al Ain

All eyes are on Khalid bin Mohammed Stadium in Sharjah, which will be the stage for the confrontation between Al Bataeh, who are seeking to regain their balance after losing to Shabab Al Ahli in the last round, and their guest Al Ain, who are aspiring to achieve their second consecutive victory in the competition to remain at the top, but their players will have to excel themselves and double their efforts if they want to come out with the three points.

Al Bataeh gave a wonderful performance against Shabab Al Ahli and was a strong opponent for the home team and the fans. His 1-2 loss came with great difficulty, and as a result he won the praise of the followers and presented himself as a milestone in the current season.

There were four confrontations between the two sides in the league championship, in which Al Ain Kaab had the highest score with three wins compared to one win for Al Bataeh, and the matches witnessed the scoring of 18 goals, which indicates that today’s match will be exciting and full of goals.

Khorfakkan x Al Wahda

Al Wahda will be required to change the image they showed in the last round, which witnessed their 1-0 friendly fire victory over Ajman, when they visit Khorfakkan at Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Stadium. They have no choice but to come out with the three points to strengthen their position at the top, but they will have to face the reaction of the home team who are seeking to restore balance after their heavy 1-5 loss to Al Ain.

On paper, the task of the “Happy Owners” seems easy, given the quality of the performance, in addition to the 10 historical confrontations that are in their favor (6 wins for Al Wahda, one win for Khorfakkan, and three draws), while on the other hand, the Khorfakkan team is counting on the home field and the fans to achieve a positive result to avoid repeating the scenario of last season.

Khorfakkan coach Daniel Isaila said that he is waiting for a positive reaction from the players after the heavy loss in the first round against Al Ain, stressing his knowledge of the strength of their competitor in today’s match, adding: “We know that Al Wahda is a strong team, and we must enter the match with great focus, and please our fans with a positive result.”

In turn, Al Wahda coach, Ronnie Deila, asked his players to appear in the match in a different way than they did in the first round, despite the victory over Ajman, and said: “It is true that we got what we wanted in the first round, but we did not appear in the expected way compared to what we presented during the preparation period. Achieving full marks in the first two rounds for the first time in six seasons will be an incentive for us to continue our journey in the league.”

Ajman x Shabab Al Ahli

Ajman team will host Shabab Al Ahli team at Rashid bin Saeed Stadium with the aim of achieving its first victory in the current season, relying on the home field advantage, the fans and the desire of its players to make a strong reaction to the defeat they suffered in a strange way against Al Wahda in the first round of the league, as the team’s defender Meles Kosanovic scored an own goal in the 86th minute, while his teammate Walid Azaro wasted a penalty kick in the 90+6 minute that was enough to get them out with a draw.

On the other hand, Shabab Al Ahli has a distinguished record against Ajman, as during the 24 matches that brought the two teams together in the same competition, they achieved victory in 18 matches, compared to one victory for Ajman, while five matches ended in a draw. The players of “Dubai Knights” realize the need to double their focus to achieve the desired result.

Al-Burtuqali coach Goran Tufidzic warned his players about the strength of their opponent, and pointed out that he had dominated the match he played in the first round, and said: “We realize that it is an important match and it will be difficult, but we are ready to play it after we corrected the mistakes of the Al-Wahda match.”

In turn, Shabab Al-Ahli coach, Paulo Sousa, said that he seeks to be the team with the most control and opportunities, and convert them into goals while maintaining mental focus, enthusiasm and effectiveness so that the team has the advantage.
