At 2:20 p.m. this Saturday, December 21, 2024, a fire broke out in the small rural town of Montesquieu-Guittautwhich has fewer than 200 inhabitants, southwest of Toulouse.
Forces mobilized
The firefighters of SDIS 31 intervened at the beginning of the afternoon to try to put out the flames which ravaged a maison of the municipality. Two fire engines, a large ladder, a water carrier and an ambulance were mobilized.
From a human point of view, 21 firefighters were called.
2h30 facing the flames
After more than 2h30 fighting the flamesthe firefighters have controlled the fire around 5 p.m.. They then proceeded to strip the roof. Two men escaped unharmed on their own before the firefighters arrived early in the afternoon.
The owner of the house was not on the premises at the time of the facts. Arriving after the fire, he felt unwell and was immediately taken care of by the fire brigade ambulance on the scene.
