Tattoos, paintings, sale of spray paint, jewelry, clothing…Atypical Crew is the new place, right in the city center of the Pink City, where artists from different backgrounds and styles come together to introduce Toulouse residents to their world.

Open since November 2024, this new business, nestled in the Esquirol district, is both a concept store and a tattoo parlor.

A tattoo, a coffee, a piercing, a piece of jewelry…

In August 2024, Toulouse News already announced the opening of this atypical boutique where Toulouse residents will be able to as well as getting a tattoo, drinking a coffee, finding a piece of jewelry or admiring paintings by various artists.

That’s it, the Atypical Crew has finally opened its doors in the heart of the Esquirol district! And no one seems disappointed, as expressed by dahliaanoir_piercer who takes care of the piercing part: “Working here brings something new, because people can come and discover various things in the same place: they can come to get tattooed and fall for a piercing, for example. »

Tattoo parlor downstairs…

At the bottom, a space is reserved for tattoo artists. A tattoo room is also installed upstairs for people with reduced mobility. These permanent artists are Nikita. s, Sztukatattoo, machudraw_tattoo, mendo_ttt and onitaho.ttt.

“We try to represent different styles of tattoos to breaking the barriers of discovery. Some are specialized in dark, others are more girly, and I am more hip-hop, for example,” explains Mendo, artist and tattooist who manages the reception of the Atypical Crew.

Note that “guests” are regularly invited to the show, such as skao.ttt (lettering) and l_apprenti.sorcier (blackwork), who will be present from Tuesday January 14 to Saturday January 18, 2025. “We invite tattoo artists who create styles different from ours so that everything can be offered in the living room,” specifies dahliaanoir_piercer.

…and artist residency at the top

Mendo considers the Atypical Crew more of an artist residency than a tattoo parlor or exhibition space. Indeed, at reception, jewelry is on display, as well as works, spray paint, caps, piercings and even original t-shirts.

« We don’t want to stop at a single style. We are open to everyone and we don’t forbid ourselves anything. Today, we present paintings, and perhaps tomorrow, we will prefer to offer sculpture classes,” he illustrates.

Nail art et piercing

On the tattoo artists’ floor, a piercing space is also installed for dahliaanoir_piercer. Another allows jessie_glow_ to propose nail art and manicure.

Regular openings

The space also serves asmeeting place between artists and individualssince openings regularly take place there. The paintings are then displayed and available for sale.

“For about a month and a half, we let artists exhibit on our walls, then we change. The openings take place on Friday evenings, in a festive atmosphere,” presents Mendo before specifying that other events will take place in the future, such as flash days, black Fridays and evenings.
