Two vehicles were set on fire late Thursday evening in the boroughs of Saint-Laurent and Dollard-des-Ormeaux, in Montreal.
A first vehicle was on fire around 9:30 p.m., while it was parked at the rear of an industrial building on Duchesne Street, near Saint-Charles Street, in Saint-Laurent.

When officers from the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) arrived, firefighters were already putting the fire under control, but the vehicle was a total loss.
An incendiary object was found on the scene, said SPVM spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils, according to whom there were no injuries during the fire.

Another fire was reported around midnight in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, when a sport utility vehicle was on fire on Deacon Street, near Saint-Régis Street.
The SUV, also considered a total loss, was towed for assessment, according to the SPVM, which specifies that, in both cases, there was no damage to property or suspects arrested.

The two files were transferred to the arson section of the SPVM, which will send its investigators to shed light on the circumstances of these two events.
