With the support of the Philatelic Associations of Nantes and La Baule, the scientist Lucie RANDOIN (1885-1960), first woman biologist at the Academy of Medicine, is included in the 2025 philatelic program in the Industry, science and technology section. La Poste plans to organize the “first day” operation of the postage stamp designed with her image on February 22, 2025. In this news, a major conference is organized to address the contributions of Lucie RANDOIN in the local fabric on February 22, 2025 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the amphitheater of the Maison des hommes et des techniques de Nantes. By supporting research on food supplements and marine minerals, Lucie RANDOIN’s work represents an example between land and sea of the development of vitamin or supplemented compound foods. The anchoring of nutrition-health and food canning in the territory was doubly encouraged by the commitment of personalities and the role of eminent members of the Nantes municipal council in this area (Arsène Saupiquet, Léopold Cassegrain, Jean-Claude Bonduelle…). Just before and just after the war, the problem of nutrition was included in a global and global food problem, and posed, in particular during the important Hot Springs conference organized in 1943 at the initiative of Roosevelt, as a question crucial for the well-being of humanity and a condition for peace in the world.
