On the night of Thursday December 19 to Friday December 20, it was around half past midnight when a van parked in a street in the town of Crest caught fire. The fire spread to a facade touching a gas box, housing a tap and meter. The flames destroyed two garages and a home.

The firefighters activated the reinforced gas procedure. 560 homes are currently still without gas. The electricity, which was cut off for a time, was restored. Extinguishing the fire required the mobilization of 35 firefighters who deployed four hoses, including one mounted on a large ladder.
There were no victims, but the three occupants of the destroyed home had to be relocated.
