The social partners are cautious about François Bayrou’s proposal to “resume without suspending” the 2023 pension reform
The social partners were cautious or hostile in their first reactions to the proposal made Thursday by the Prime Minister of “resume without suspending” the 2023 pension reform.
“The CFDT has always said that it would seize every opportunity to re-discuss all the parameters of the first reform, starting with the 64 years”declared to Agence France-Presse (AFP) Yvan Ricordeau, one of the leaders of the union. “This seems to be possible in the Prime Minister’s proposal, however we will wait for the first meeting between the CFDT and the Prime Minister as well as his general policy speech” to define a position, he added. “Equity through better consideration of the situation of women and hardship, and financial sustainability are priorities for the CFDT”he added.
The CGT and the UNSA, for their part, demanded that the 2023 reform be repealed before any new discussion. Mr. Bayrou’s proposal is “totally hollow”estimated Denis Gravouil, of the CGT. “What we want is a vote on this 2023 reform which has never been voted on”he added. “We don’t want cosmetic changes. (…) We want to discuss everything. »
