“Glory to Gisèle. This is what Nabilla wrote about the outcome of the Mazan rape trial on December 19, 2024. The Vaucluse criminal court sentenced Dominique Pélicot to 20 years in prison, and found his 50 co-defendants guilty.
This chemical submission trial particularly moved the reality TV star. From the start of the hearings, 3 and a half months ago, Milann and Leyann’s mother had congratulated Gisèle Pélicot for her courage.
Very moved by the fate of this courageous woman
In September 2024, the latter explained its decision to refuse closed doors for this trial. She then declared: “I want any woman who wakes up one morning without any memory from the night before remember what I said“. And to add: “I was sacrificed on the altar of vice, and we need to talk about it.”
A decision she made even though she was “a field of ruins” she explained at the start of the trial.
It was to help him that Nabilla launched an online fundraiser. She managed to raise more than €30,000 in less than 24 hours to help Gisèle Pélicot to pay her legal costs and to “tto endure this terrible ordeal” she had explained.
The latter’s lawyers, Stéphane Babonneau and Antoine Camus, then asked him to close the kitty. In a press release, they wrote: “Madame Gisèle Pelicot and her family thank all the people who have massively sent testimonies of support from all over the world since the start of the trial”.
And added: “However, our client absolutely wishes to preserve the dignity and serenity of the debates currently taking place. (…) She therefore calls today on the greatest moderation on social networks, in no way wishes the opening of support pots online and requests the closure of those already open”.
Nabilla had accepted Gisèle Pélicot’s decision
A decision that Nabilla had of course accepted. She then posted on Instagram: “We respect his decision and let’s close this (jackpot) instantly”. The star had specified that “each donor will be reimbursed in full and free of charge”. And to wish “a lot of courage” to Gisèle Pelicot “in this ordeal” judicial.
Silent throughout the rest of the trial, Nabilla took up her pen againthis December 19, 2024, to raise a fist in the direction of Mazan. A very strong symbol for her, and for many women.
