For the Department of the Drômeit’s the distribution of gifts before their time. After the Anacej price for the Mémobox project of the Departmental Youth Council and the prize Territories Or awarded to the Council for young people supported in child protection, the community won three new rewardsend of November and beginning of December:

• the Affinef price* for the Cré@l@bo fablab at the Marcel-Pagnol college in Valence;
• two prizes during Ideal Co trophies for Territorial Heroes**.

A cutting-edge digital establishment

In order to strengthen the attractiveness of Marcel-Pagnol, the Department wanted to make this college a cutting-edge establishment in the digital field. As part of the Inclusive Digital, Educational Digital (NINE) project, the community financed the purchase of the equipment necessary for the installation of a fablab (3D printers, laser cutter, heat press, milling machine, computers and softwareetc.) for €90,000 in 2023.

This material is used by students in the college’s digital option. Students registered for this option – 24 students per classfor almost twice as many requests – benefit from 1 hour 30 minutes of additional lessons dedicated to digital learning per week.

As part of this option, the middle school students undertook creating an arcade machine. If the first year was dedicated to building the infrastructure, this year is dedicated to programming the first games.

Get students interested in digital careers

In addition to this initiation, students are made aware of the uses of digital technology. The fablab also allows middle school students from the Digital Club to discover 3D printing, drawing software or badge printing during their lunch break, with three three-month sessions per year. This tool is also used by teachers, particularly for technology, science and visual arts lessons.

This initiative supported by the Department, National Education and the Banque des Territoires was therefore rewarded with the POUREF community grand prize at the Educathec exhibition in Paris at the end of November.

Water resource management

the Department also won two awards at the beginning of December during the Ideal Co Territorial Heroes trophies. In the environment category, the organization of the first water bases in Drôme was praised.

As a reminder, the Department, the Drôme prefecture and the Rhône Méditerranée Corse water agency brought together more than 300 actors concerned by water management to initiate a dialogue and rethink territories by integrating the challenges of this precious resource. These meetings resulted in the presentation of roadmaps for each partner.

In the resources category, the “fun kit” management project was also rewarded. This tool made up of cards promotes the co-construction of projects.
